The lil boy found the birthday gift that hubby hid in our room. Dunno with hubby but he did not give the gift until the lil boy found it on our room’s bed while hubby was getting something from the cabinet that he forgot to hide it again. But I think it’s high time if not too late for the lil boy’s birthday two months ago.

This birthday gift hubby chose was the biggest among the gifts we bought for him. It’s a sing-along magic keyboard in concert. It’s battery operated so hubby thought we really need to buy new rechargeable batteries. Well since the boy was able to open this gift finally before hubby left for work this afternoon, he had been playing it non-stop until he must have been tired that he became silent all of a sudden just awhile ago and when I looked at him he was fast asleep. He is so happy with the gift. He likes music and he loves to play this keyboard toy. Last night we were playing with his yellow guitar toy which is also battery operated but I dunno but later last night it won’t turn on anymore. We had fun playing the guitar which seems like a piano too. I think we can buy him more musical toys rather than more toy cars.

I’d love to motivate my son to be inclined in playing musical instruments. I am or was a frustrated pianist. LOL! I always wanted to learn piano when I was growing up but my mom may have thought learning it would get in the way of my studies. It could have been a good extra-curricular activity but they thought we should focus on our studies. I was always expected to be in the honor roll during my grade school and high school too. But I am glad they did somehow coz it helped me a lot. Anyway, if our lil boy will be musically inclined as he grows, I would let him learn as long as we can afford to pay for the lessons.

I’ll take this opportunity to work while the lil musician is at rest from making music here at home and while there is silence to let me concentrate at work for awhile.

The lil boy likes to take a bath these days coz he has learned to love playing with water. So it can be a real great test of patience sometimes since I am almost always the one giving him the bath recently. It’s often “mama lang (only)” thing with him recently when it comes to bathing, changing diapers and other things. Now he has a new toy – the newer neon green water dipper I bought intentionally for me to use so that while he plays with the older yet smaller water dipper, I can easily proceed with bathing him. But he got the newer one and I end up using the small one. Now it takes longer coz he continues to play with water now and wants to use both now. Sometimes I really have to push it my way. I just have to let him be a kid who started to love playing with water. As an ad would say, let him be, let him grow.

After attending mass this afternoon, the lil boy uttered french fries and pointed to McDo outside VP so hubby and I decided to have a very late lunch there instead. We checked if they have new toys for the Happy Meal but they still have old toys to dispose of. The lil boy loves musical toys lately (in fact hubby chose a little expensive musical toy for him for his birthday which the lil boy still has to open on Friday). Hubby and I decided to have two Happy Meals so the lil boy can have the red drums toy and the yellow guitar. Not exactly great toys but hubby and I were sure they made the lil one a happy boy.

Ever since our lil boy watched the Disney animated movie UP where there were so many colorful balloons, he would somehow insist that we buy a balloon for him whenever he sees one especially when we are in the mall. Sometimes he would even want to get the balloons used as display in the department store or other establishments. Some are generous but most would not give up the balloons obviously they still need them for display and decor. So when we get the chance to buy him one, we do and when he comes home or the following for example when he watches UP, he must have the balloon with him and you would see happiness, joy and a smile in his face. I hope with or without a balloon our son will continue to smile.

It is time for a haircut for our son. It has been postponed for awhile and now we are heading to the mall where he liked the haircut service and he has somehow been accustomed to the barber and the place. He had most of his haircut done there so we stuck to that place. The place is called Fun Cuts where he watches Barney while the barber tries to do his job carefully with my son sometimes moving more than necessary. So far he has not cried unlike during his first few haircuts. The last time we passed by actually he wanted to go in but then we had other plans and we lack time then so we had to carry him away. Good thing he did not cry or throw a tantrum. Okay I have to prepare and off we go for lunch out, haircut for the little boy and buy some grocery. Bye for now!

I think I have to spend more quality time to teach him basic thing like counting and the alphabet. But being a stay at home mom and work at home mom at the same time and it is just the two of us here when hubby is at work, it not as easy as it looks. Anyway, I should devote more time even just an hour in the morning then another hour in the afternoon… teaching and helping him learn things.

Hubby took a little time off from his PC and had play time with our lil boy. They were playing with the toy gun that my son picked at the mall one time we went to buy him a toy. He suddenly got a liking for a toy gun then. It crossed my mind what if he does come to like games using guns. I hope he finds another kind of safer sport though. But I know a old friend of mine whose hubby has a liking for guns. I have to emphasize though that these guns are not toys okay! Pellet Air Guns, for example, like those I have seen at Zephyr Sports, a leading online retailer for extreme sports and outdoor gear which offers free shipping on orders, should be handled well by anyone who buy them.

There is no play time when you handle this kind of guns. Sellers of these guns like Zephyr are not only selling them at low prices with real customer service to online customers but they are also concerned that all users must learn to use and handle this gun properly without injury to themselves or other people. They will be able to help you get some links online to airgun safety tips which all should be aware of. Anyway, I mentioned this because I read a story long before where a young boy was almost killed playing with an air gun thinking it was like one of his toy guns. We’ll just have to be safe with them you know even during play time.

Hubby and I are teaching our two year old son to say please when he asks a favor. So we tell him that if he wants something like food for example, we tell him “Say please mama or please papa.” Then CT would echo back sometimes when we ask “What will you say?” in our dialect and he will instantly answer “TT!” He often calls himself TT instead of CT. Only when we correct him will he say it correctly. Going back when he is asked what will you say, he will also slowly reply “what will you say”. It’ll take time I know but hubby and I are amused that he is learning to talk little by little in English. Then last night I asked him in English and he seem to have understood it coz he correctly answered “No”. These are just little things we discover and witness from our two year old son for the past few days that amuses us. The little joys that proud parents experience with their growing babies.
