A few days ago, hubby and the little boy worked hand in hand packing away toys of the little boy in his room that he does not use anymore so as to clear the space and put them in the cabinet. Now I also thought about some books that I was able to bring as well as those that I still left in my parents house since we moved here. I want to sell textbooks which I still have many of them as well as some of the books that my sister in UK sent us which we no longer read. I just saw the Mad Science Philippines with Astroboy Julius Arvin Atayde and Android Anna Balmonte on ANC tonight. They are indeed great for for party entertainment which young kids will surely enjoy and I am even amused and amazed myself. This is great for kids who are inclined to science and doing experiments. It looks really fun to have them to entertain kids at a birthday party perhaps as they will learn and will be able to bring home some of the projects and stuff that they can make during the party.

Choice of Career

Let us talk about beauty instead of anything else that is scary. I was watching a beauty makeover segment in one TV show a couple of days ago and while watching it, I started wondering the choice of career that the staff of that salon has chosen. But one thing I know though is that a lot of people who have become their clients and customers surely appreciate the beautiful work that they do on them. It must be one gratifying career when people appreciate the work that you do.

These salon staff must really talented or they have gone to a good school like one of those cosmetology schools in Wichita that even offer federal financial aid to those students who do qualify. The training program in this school of beauty as they would call it encourages their students to excel and shine at all times. They must truly come out as beauty experts in the future and salons all around the world would be delighted to have them among their truly qualified staff.

Maximize Your Career

Maximize your career and strive to learn more in life. These were some of what a former teacher told us when we were met her during one of our mini class reunions years before. Learning need not end when you have finished one course. Everytime I remember her, I would recall what she said about learning and education. I was listening to a featured story on TV about pursuing education. It did cross my mind before to take a second course but was not able to pursue that anymore when I started enjoying working and earning already.

But for those who wish to either pursue further studies or pursue college they can possibly do research college degrees as there are already online degrees offered by universities and colleges these days especially in the US. When you are working yet wish to maximize your career and earning potential, then it is important to have a college degree or much better have a masteral degree. Having a master’s degree or doctorate degree sometimes if not often helps in one’s career promotion. Some of my friends indeed pursued further studies in order to be promoted and maximize their career in order to make their dreams come true.

Find a Job

Lately with the way the other one is behaving, it did cross my mind to go back to the corporate world perhaps or if I can find a job that is only part yet pays good enough then I’d like to make myself busy again with work in an office. I have been scouting for local jobs as well for the dear lil sister in case she wants to work in an office. There are niche career communities network that I found before and I tried to check if there might possibly be a local job posted there but they were all just in the US. But I know someday my sis will do find a job she’ll love and like. As for me, I hope so too to find a part time job to add to our income for the lil boy’s future and his education that is.

Educational Videos for kids

Goodbye for now to Disney Channel and Nick Jr. We saw the need and benefit of looking for and showing eductaional videos for the lil boy to help him get used to things he will learn from preschool. Last night it was Phonics 4Babies and now some videos from Leap Frog. I say these are very nice educational videos. it is not that too late to show him these videos. I remember I learned the alphabet and sounds when I was around 5 to 6 years old during my time and there was only Kindergarten then which is equivalent to Level 3 in preschool. Now there is school for Babies, Toddlers, PreSchool Level 1 or Nursery, PreSchool Level 2 or Junior Kinder; and PreSchool Level 3 or Senior Kinder.

We need to continually find more educational videos for the lil boy to make up for those times that he would just watch cartoons on TV some of which is not that good. Never too late yet I think to make up and correct that I hope. Now off to take a break and see how the lil boy is doing.

Stay Home

Stay home for the lil boy today and me too. The lil boy got colds a few days ago and I got it too a day after he did. Hubby seem to have gotten it too but he is still off to work. Must be the weather outside. One time it was so hot then it rained then it has been cloudy and raining the past couple of days. So we are staying home now for the lil boy to rest and school resumes tomorrow for the lil boy. But we are letting him watch educational videos for babies and toddlers to make use of his time at home productively. It’s nice to stay home too coz we would be able to save for the lil boy’s tuition. Yet I wanted to go to a small resto and get one of my fave comfort food for dinner. Just have to abstain and control. Diet and save are the words to keep in mind today! So stay home!

Make People Beautiful

We cannot deny that a lot of people particularly celebrities and famous people who need to look beautiful almost all the time especially when they appear in movies, TV and other functions involved in their work rely on professional cosmetologists, make up artists and beauticians to make them look beautiful, pamper them in salons, and help them maintain their great looks. These celebs really do need to maintain their beautiful appearance for their fans and as part of their job and almost all of them are thankful for those beauticians and cosmetologists. Thank goodness for those who work in salons and spas for they do make other people look and feel beautiful. Thankful that they chose this career and thankful too for these beauty schools they went to just like this Cosmetology school in Arkansas that trained them well in this chosen field of work so that they can professionally perform their job of making people beautiful and pampering them in salons. The graduates of this cosmetology school are recognized and sought after throughout the United States. Without these trained graduates, these salons and spas that we go to won’t exist or even last.

More Work, Less Talk

During the past few days when everyone around here in my online world were on holy days and holiday mode where there was more silence in Twitter and FB, I found time to do more work and with starting a new project, I thought maybe the Easter will be an opportunity for me to start doing more work as much as I can and do less talk and chat over Twitter. Though I have to say, tweeting with friends has a lot of benefits too but I may have to be more focused now on work like as a mom spending more bonding time with the lil boy. The summer class for the lil boy is still on hold. This is something I have to work out yet. I was supposed to call the school today as mentioned by the school director but I opted to postpone it till later this week maybe. Classes starts next week but given we have plans next week, I am not sure it is a good idea for the lil boy to be out of the class when it has just started. I still have to decide on that. Been busy offline and some online tasks too. Praying for more blessings to come pouring forth so we can continue to save for our project. Enough talking now, got to work on.. blog on. Happy Easter once again!

Book Hunting

A few days ago my sis texted me was asking me if I have seen the movie Dear John. No I have not except for the movie trailer on TV and that prompted me to go on a book hunting for a copy of the book Dear John by Nicholas Sparks. But it was no longer available in the local store NBS so I thought I might find a copy of it among the Amazon books. While book hunting online as some are on 50% bestsellers every day, I suddenly remembered something.

I have to add that I wanted to buy a copy of the book “Julie & Julia” by Julie Powell whose movie version I have seen recently and I liked this movie because it is about blogging and cooking which I love and would love to learn, respectively. The book is only about $1.99 online.

Yes I am buying books again coz I need to go back to reading. It has been my passion since early grade school thanks to those book report requirements way back then that I have come to love reading books. I wanna feed my mind too. It has been “hungry” for a few years now since I have neglected reading since I started working and started my own family.
