Right Move
The banks do believe that you, the depositor as their new client made the right move when you invested your hard earned money into their bank and deposited it as your savings. It is indeed a right move to save not only for the future but also for emergencies. I always feel blessed when we get the chance to save.
But there is a better move than this in the opinion of some if not most financial experts and advisers and that is to use this hard-earned money and invest it in let’s us say you buy gold coins as an investment. Gold is one unique investment worth going after for. If only we have more then I would really want to try out this unique investment that is said to be far more stable than paper currency investments. And I’ll be praying we made the right move.
Wallet that Protects You
I never thought of it until I read about this kind of rfid blocking wallet so called the wallet that protects you particularly credit card owners. I wonder if our credit cards are one of those millions of new credit cards which are said to have tiny two way radios called RFID chips that emit the account number, expiration data and other information.
I really hope this is not true in our case that we might have this so called contactless technology in our CC where some unscrupulous people can read credit cards anywhere even if they are just in our wallet. We may just be standing in line to cashier counter waiting for our turn and who knows these people maybe stealing information from our credit cards without our knowledge. That kind of wallet I mentioned above can in fact block the personal information being sent by radio waves from these new credit cards using such contactless technology. If you do have this new card, then you might want to think about protecting yourself before you become a victim of payment fraud and identity theft.
New Power Rate Hike
We were listening to the natinal news this evening and there is a new power rate hike this month. We actually noticed the power rate hike for the last two months on our own electric bill. It is a substantial increase for us considering the past two months there were still those rotational brownouts. How much more this month when we have not noticed any brownout any more. That means more and consistent usage from now on. But we have actually implemented some cost cutting measure right here at home. We turn off the aircon and other appliances when the lil boy is in school.
If I were to sum up the total differential increase for three months it would be more than the original cost of our electric bill when we moved here more than a year ago. I miss that subsidy that the previous government gave to power utility consumers like us. It was a great help that time. I wish we can have that again this time around. But more so do I wish that there would be no more power rate hike unless they also increase the salaries of employees. Though I think that is something we can only wish for now.
New Table
I finally got a new table for myself since hubby cannot buy me one just yet. He forced my old table to be retired you know. Anyway, he is not totally admitting it. But what is important now is that I love my new home office table here which we bought last Monday after I got hubby a new CPU, keyboard and mouse – all subject to refund he said next month. I would openly accept that refund since that money used was truly from my savings for me and the lil boy.
We bought the table late afternoon of Monday at the GMall and was delivered around eight in the evening. Before we left the mall we dropped by the office furniture supplies section of the bookstore and went to look for those small hard boxes where I plan to transfer the other contents of my old table’s drawer. The bookstore did not have it. So I guess I just have to check online and see if I can find it at OnTimeSupplies where I first thought of using a box to contain all my important documents from now on.
Making A Choice
I am making a choice to save and invest rather than buy something for myself which I think is useful in my line of work yet may not be as practical to spend on for now. With the current situation, what drives me now is to work hard, save and invest possibly in a good investment that will secure my lil boy’s future hopefully. If I can make a choice of the kind of investment that I like now, I wish to buy gold coins as an idea which I have gotten from a few friends of mine. I have been told it is a good way to safeguard one’s savings in a kind of investment that becomes more valuable over time. Now being able to invest in it is something worth making a choice now.
Investment
I now wish hubby and I can make an investment particularly one that involves us possibly being able to buy gold bullion. Actually out of curiosity, I searched for it wondering how much it would cost to make such an investment here and I cannot help but gasp at the amount of money it involves to invest in it. But that is actually what it takes to make such a precious metal investment around here. What is great about investing in it lies in its proven ability to diversify investments as well as protect your wealth. This is one good investment given you have the financial resources to do so. It will indeed be a great help in your family’s finances in the future.
Things To Do
Still so many things to do and it seem never ending.
- I just finished washing the dishes… Check!!!
- Then I have disposed of the two garbage bags that have accumulated over the past few days. Thanks to one of the boys who collects garbage in the neighborhood and one of them finally came by early this afternoon which was a surprise for they usually collect late afternoon… Check!!!
- Look for an affordable life insurance rate. This has been in my to-do list since the start of this year. The search goes on for a good insurance for me and the boys.
- Medical check-up. I promised hubby that I will undergo medical checkup after having felt those pain in the left side of my head down to the neck a few days ago.
- Enroll the lil boy this week. I think hubby’s decision will prevail to enroll him in the school nearby. I don’t want to deliberate anymore though I still have some reservations on the multi-level set-up plus that large amount of bond they asked us to pay on top of the tuition and other fees. The tuition and school miscellaneous fees are already comparable to sending the lil boy to college alma mater. Anyway, at least we were told we could get back the bond when we pull out the lil boy from the school.
- Hair Cut. The three of us needs haircut particularly hubby and also the lil boy before his school starts. I just need a trim. I didn’t realize my hair has grown so long. Good thing am just inside the house most of the time so I did not feel the need to have it cut short. Had I been exposed daily to the heat of this super hot summer, then I had long wanted to have it cut short.
- Shop for new clothes for the lil boy. They don’t have a uniform in their school and so I need to buy a few new clothes for him unless I make his old clothes like his uniform. Now that made me smile. He seems to have outgrown some of his clothes over summer.
These are just some of the things we need to do mostly before school starts.
