We have regulated our TV watching for quite sometime now for the benefit of our dear little guy as encouraged by the school. But there are certain times that I wanted to relax and yes watch movies. I have been hearing about these netflix coupons from a friend of mine who is a customer of Netflix. It is a movie and tv show rental company where one can either stream shows or movies from the PC or opt for them to be sent to your house. I found those coupons which are made available in their very own website for your convenience. I kept hearing about Netflix actually from one of an old friends of mine. It should be good to avail of their coupons because I know my friend would not avail of it herself if it ain’t good too especially for people like us who loves to watch movies.

The Smurfs 2011 Movie

The Smurfs 2011 movie is one of those movies that I can watch over and over again… so far. I remember I liked the TV series of the Smurfs from 1981 to 1989. It was a big thing for us kids then. Who does not know Papa Smurf, Smurfette, Clumpsy, Dreamy, Hefty, Gusty, Brainy, Greedy, Jokey, Grouchy, Handy and Vanity among the other Smurf characters then. There’s also Gargamel and Azrael.

The 2011 movie stars Neil Patrick Harris and Jayma Mays with Katy Perry as the voice of Smurfette.

The little boy would ask us if he can watch this during Friday or weekend nights. It’s a fun movie for kids and kids at heart!

My Neighbor Totoro

Ms. Daphne, a celebrity I followed over at Twitter recommended an animated movie and at one of her tweets I read another title of an animated movie called Totoro and when I searched for it online, I found the title to be My Neighbor Totoro. I am going to ask hubby to look for this 1988 animated movie so we can watch it with the little boy.

Interesting to find the names our very own Lea Salonga as Mrs. Kusakabe’s voice in the Disney English version in 2005. Also there are the voices of Dakota Fanning and her younger sister Elle Fanning (from the movie Super in the English version.

Chipmunks

The chipmunks keeps the little boy some company at this rainy evening while he still won’t go to dreamland. I was thinking he was already tired from today’s event. But he still has some energy to watch Alvin and the Chipmunks now. Alvin, Theodore and Simon makes him laugh while watching some scenes. Or it may be that he is really sleepy now.

I am enjoying watching it at times when I take a break and I love how it makes me think of Christmas! Yes that wonderful season of the year which is just six months away now.

Pirates of the Caribbean On Stranger Tides

Watched Pirates of the Caribbean On Stranger Tides in 3D last night at the cinema of the newest mall in town. It was date night with the hubby. After having dinner just the two of us (with the little boy at home with my sister) at the mexican inspired that just opened last night (which hubby wanted to try), we decided to watch the latest sequel of Pirates of the Caribbean. I know hubby is interested in watching this movie since he mentioned it to me the other day that it will start showing yesterday here in town. The movie was not as exciting as the previous ones. I became sleepy during the first half of the movie though at least I tried to make the most of the movie and still enjoyed Jack Sparrow’s character.

On the other hand, I may just be saddened maybe by a news of the passing of someone close to us. But one thing too that bothered me were the kind of 3D glasses that the new cinema in town used. The side around the glass seem to make a blurry effect that bothered me. I wanted to take it off actually but of course it would be more blurry if I didn’t put it on. LOL! Would I recommend this movie? Well I could just say you can wait for it to come out in DVD or bluray maybe. The cost of the 3D for the two of us may be enough to buy a DVD. *wink*

Scooby Doo

I finally finished watching Scooby Doo the movie which the little boy was supposed to be watching but he got so engrossed in playing Backyardigans games at Nick Jr. that he left me alone watching the rest of the Scooby Doo by myself. I never thought I would get interested watching this movie from beginning till the end by myself.

I think I’ll watch another movie of my choice after this though but I am stuck watching the additional clip at the end of the movie. It was like the making of the movie though it is kind of weird that it has no audio. Hmmmmm!

Okay my son is now asking me for another movie. Let’s see what else we have here…

Aging Gracefully

We were watching a movie a few days ago and I was looking at this scene were the guests at a party were old women from the elite society. You would be amazed at how some women still look so beautiful with great skin at their age. There are ways that people especially women can age gracefully. That thought reminds me of the skincell vial #29A Reviews that I was looking into a few days ago. These beauty stuff makes me think too of what products could delay the aging process for the skin especially on the face for most beautiful women. I often wonder what they apply on their face to help their skin retain the seemingly youthful glow. Who does not want to be aging gracefully when surrounded by those still young looking older women?

In My Life Movie

In My Life movie is probably one of the recent local movies that I have seen that I enjoyed watching and made me cry my heart out. I have seen parts of it three to four times after I first saw it I think two weeks ago or so. The little boy was asleep then and it was so quiet here that I decided to turn on the TV while I was working.

It is something that moms must see. There were realizations that really touched me from a point of view of a daughter and in the point of view of a mother which I am now.

The B

We were puzzled by the little boy telling us he wants to watch “The B” and it seems he only knows what he is talking about at first. He keeps on saying “The B, the B!” Until we figured out what the little guy was talking about. He wants to watch the Backyardigans so that is what he meant when he says the B as in B for Backyardigans. Sometimes it is hard to figure out what my three year old son is saying especially when it is new. So here he is watching Backyardigans since morning. We let him watch this since it is a weekend treat for him. He will be back to school tomorrow. Hopefully we will find something else more educational and a new one coz he is quite bored with eveything else.

Toy Story Treat

I saw the lil boy watching this on YouTube yesterday and he watched it over and over again for a few times. This was called the Woody vs Lenny Staring Contest. I have not seen this in any of the three Toy Story movies, have you?

But here is why I think…

This is was part of a series of shorts originally aired on ABC’s One Saturday Morning, which were also included on the Toy Story dvds as “Toy Story Treats”.
