Looking at these beautiful partnership rings shown by another friend, just reminds me that I need to think about getting our rings adjusted. It should be put on my priority to-do list and I have to remind hubby that he should be able to fix a schedule when he is free from work and we can go to the jeweler to have our rings adjusted. This is one thing we have long postponed. High time to do this long postponed thing we should have simply done a long time ago.

This is the Morrisons Apple Squash Juice Concentrate that my mom sent to us from the Christmas package that my dear elder sister sent to us from UK. This is really sweet. At first I thought I could just drink it as it is even a little and I did not know that it was juice concentrate so you could imagine how sweet this tasted when I drank it straight without adding any water. Only a little of this for a glass of water will do for me but I was late to know that.

It is delicious and it is the first time that hubby and I have tasted anything like this with squash. I could not actually point out the taste of squash int his juice concentrate. It is more of strong sweet apple taste. the label says no added sugar from this concentrated apple juice drink with sweeteners. Yes it is kind of too sweet for me but I think my sister liked this that is why she sent this to us for us to enjoy drinking it as well.

This should have been our “wine” during New Year. There is still a few left of this since I don’t drink this anymore than hubby does once in awhile.

Brown rice (or “hulled rice”) is unmilled or partly milled rice, a kind of whole, natural grain.

With thoughts of a mom wanting to go for healthy options, I have been thinking of trying to use brown rice (also called unpolished rice) instead for our own consumption. It is actually more expensive than the rice that we usually buy from the supermarket but more nutritious than white rice. Hubby and I have tried this before a couple of years ago or so at one of the small restaurants in the city called Grub that serves brown rice with their meals served. We liked it though at first being not used to eating it, I was quite hesitant but went on to enjoy eating it as I remember.

One thought that I have in mind is also that idea I have read before that brown rice since it still have the nutrients and is not only a better choice compared to the more common white rice that we consume, but it is also better for the environment than white rice too. Almost 12 years ago, there had been such a brown rice campaign initiated but maybe because it is really more expensive then most Filipinos stick with consuming white rice more than the brown rice.

Well I still want to try cooking it at home. I hope later when hubby and I will go to the supermarket, he will go with the idea of buying even just a kilo and we’ll try cooking it tomorrow. I bet he will.

Now I just have to know how they cook brown rice. I have read that it is cooked basically the same as white rice. Just note that when you cook brown rice make sure that you allow the rice to soak in the water for around 25 to 30 minutes before turning on the heat since it is more tough and stiff. Well we will see if we get to try cooking it soon.

Though not really feeling that sick yet, hubby suggested and I thought so too last night that I may have to see a doctor soon. A cardio check up is something I should put into priority just to rule out anything that has been on my mind. I’ll probably be seeing an EKG machine on first hand experience for the very first time. Still wishing we’d get better soon even before that checkup comes up.

But yesterday, we started to notice that the water drained faster. Today it was a miracle. The water would drain within a minute or less! After six months, the kitchen sink is draining faster… alleluia! You may not know how hassle it was at first to deal with washing dishes if you easily have a back pain from bending down and when you have a back problem washing dishes in our alternative sink with a faucet that is really low.

Now am thankful washing dishes will be a lot more convenient. I am truly and simply happy with this improvement even though hubby was not really able to fix it. I just warned him though that the water bill may go higher with the ease of washing dishes making it easier for me to wash and clean at the sink every now and then. He said he won’t be worried. I hope he really won’t be.

I hope there will be better and more truly child friendly shows for the little kid. We cannot access the Disney Junior channel on cable for now. I don’t know why but at the first few days when we subscribed to SkyCable it was there then it was not accessible anymore after a few days. Sad because there are more favorable shows for kids at Disney Junior. Will try to check it out with the cable operator what we can do about it. Hope they have a more affordable plan on that for us as an option.

So when a friend told me about looking for Telecomm Specialist Jobs I suddenly thought why not look for a job online myself. No such pressure but if I do find a good one, I might just grab the chance. I am open to the idea of getting a new job for the new year as long as I find a job that I will love otherwise it will just take me away from my time with my boys. I would like it too if it won’t necessarily be an 8-5 daily job. I can only pray for divine guidance in the choice of a new job if ever it will be granted.

Thinking about that vacation house, I remember a month ago, my friend shared a photo of that lovely house they are going to spend their holiday in. It has those log bedroom furniture that I wish we could also have for my folks to use at home. They love and appreciate the log furniture. My folks are not much into modern furniture stuff so I know they would want that in case we push through with plans before to build some sort of a small rest house on the vacant lot next to our old home. I guess we will remind them of that plan when we get to visit them during our lil boy’s Christmas vacation.
