Need Backup Fast

When my 500GB WD portable HD gave up on me recently taking away almost all our recent photos and videos, I got really disappointed because that was just bought less than six months ago. Good thing I had backup of those photos mostly but sadly did not have a back up on the videos. Now I need to backup fast all our recent photos. As with the videos, I am still looking for a secure online back up for that. Hope to find one soon. If it’s free, so much better!

Sky at the Sanctuary

This is photo taken of the early morning sky at the Turtle Sanctuary, a place I missed so for now. It has been a long time since I have been in that place. This is a protected area not open for the public where they keep endangered turtle species. Hubby missed having the opportunity to have a sunrise shoot here a long time ago and wish we could go back there one day for another sunrise shoot. Hopefully we would get a better view of the sunrise then if ever.

I was going through our old files of photos and videos. Cleaning, transferring and deleting unwanted photos to give way for more space in our MyBook EHD. I was thinking we have so many photos and videos and since I still cannot find that ideal digital photo frame which i can use everyday to view those pics and videos anytime I want. I though I might as well use some and make a slide show. Yesterday when I was so down I even told and reminded hubby that I want him to make a slide show of my photos when I am gone among other details and instructions I left him. I wonder if he would ever remember what I said!

So maybe I might just have to learn making a slide show myself. I found Smilebox where it says you can create brilliant slide shows in minutes. You can add photos, videos, and music; email it in minutes; burn it into DVDs to create a perfect gift to friends and family; and post to Facebook to share to friends. I am going to explore this. I enjoyed the sample they have in their website. I just have to find and compile the pictures first to add to my slide show project. I actually have a pending photo book project which I still have to finish. Oh well good luck to me!

Wishing: Panasonic Lumix LX3

Aside from hunting for a digital photo frame to view and share those captured moments, I am also at the same time hunting for a good point and shoot camera among the different digital cameras that I have been browsing through. I have my eyes set on the Panasonic LX3 for a long time now actually. But hubby seems not sold out to buying it since we already have a DSLR and we have sold our Canon digital camera last year since we felt we don’t need another P&S camera. But sometimes I feel it is just to bulky and heavy to be using the DSLR aside from it easily attracts attention and there are times when a P&S camera would be more apt to use in the sense that it is more acceptable, not intimidating and don’t attract as much attention from other people. Sometimes people look at you as if asking who are these paparazzi? More than that I want something easy and light to carry around yet has good quality of photos and I believe the LX3 photos I have seen look great.

Cracked

Oh no! Our 2GB SD card which we use for our DSLR has really cracked! The crack on the side is bigger now and it seems so fragile already. I have told the hubby not to use it anymore a few days but he still did. Anyway, it won’t be detected anymore in my laptop when I insert it in the card reader twice. Hubby said he will just transfer the photos in it to my external portable WD HD using a cable. I inserted it back to the D60 and it will still read and am I relieved. Hubby promised to buy a new SD card and that I hope will be remembered.
