Book Hunting

A few days ago my sis texted me was asking me if I have seen the movie Dear John. No I have not except for the movie trailer on TV and that prompted me to go on a book hunting for a copy of the book Dear John by Nicholas Sparks. But it was no longer available in the local store NBS so I thought I might find a copy of it among the Amazon books. While book hunting online as some are on 50% bestsellers every day, I suddenly remembered something.

I have to add that I wanted to buy a copy of the book “Julie & Julia” by Julie Powell whose movie version I have seen recently and I liked this movie because it is about blogging and cooking which I love and would love to learn, respectively. The book is only about $1.99 online.

Yes I am buying books again coz I need to go back to reading. It has been my passion since early grade school thanks to those book report requirements way back then that I have come to love reading books. I wanna feed my mind too. It has been “hungry” for a few years now since I have neglected reading since I started working and started my own family.

Architectural Style

While waiting for the lil boy to finish eating and watching TV, I decided to browse through for those pine shutters I saw at a coffee shop we passed through last week. It looks something like this one on the photo.

It gives the place a nice architectural style that I wish we can have as part of the design in our dream home. It both has durability and good design of shutters that adds style to one’s dream home.

Protecting My Skin

My sister who is into the beauty business so to speak, told me protecting my skin should be something I should not neglect even if I am a busy stay-and-work at home mom. I am usually just a soap and water kind of person and not much into those beauty stuff. But for the past month or so I have started using to cleanse my face a foaming cleanser of a rather popular brand. My sis on the other hand suggested I use facial creams and moisturizers. I told her her I’ll think about it and somehow I have started my own kind of research for the best day cream and night cream, as well as moisturizer for my skin type. It ain’t easy coz am not much into this kind of stuff. I have yet to ask perosnally my friends around who uses them for suggestions and recommendation. though I have started browsing through review sites of such products to give me some idea on those products. It would also help to ask for advice from the professional and experts on this stuff. But for now, I think protecting my skin from too much sun exposure would be a good start then also like getting a good night sleep and the rest will follow.

Which to Buy

Treadmill or stationery bike? That was a question posted by a friend and old classmate of mine way back grade school asking friends for opinion, suggestion or advices on which to buy. She wants to buy one of those exercise equipments to help her in her goal to diet and lose weight. I have to agree with one of those who commented that whichever she gets to buy, the important things is that she has to really use it to its potential. I have a treadmill given by hubby during last year’s mother’s day but I don’t get to use it often. So I think my friend has the will to use regularly whatever she decides to buy. On the other hand, I can tell her to check nordic trac which has a sale currently on a lot of their highest rated exercise equipments and machines and they are giving out an additional 5% off the sale price to go along with their great sale. This is valid for web orders only though.

Finally

Finally tied the knot and that is how it is for someone we knew from a photography forum and his girlfriend whom we met a few times. It was quite an intimate and formal occasion with the groom and his male entourage all in tuxedo.
