Dress for the Promenade

On my way home after sending the little boy to school earlier, I met three high school students from the other school nearby and I heard them talking about planning in advance to look and shop as early as now for their dress for the promenade. Now that had me thinking for a few seconds before I realized they were talking about shopping for a prom dress.

It may still be months away but I know this is one school event that they might have been looking forward too for a long time. I remember my other classmates way back in high school were really excited for th prom as early as when we were still in our second year in high school. Anyway if you are looking for a a beautiful prom dress, you might as well shop as early as now if you want to really look good for your prom date. I saw some prom dresses from formal designers to affordably cheap prom dresses and gowns. Short prom dresses are said to be hot this year. There are affordable short prom dresses that I was able to browse through. There are many choices actually it’s just up to your style. Years and years before, some of the prom dresses I remember seeing were mostly long. But these time I guess they go for short ones. That’s great choice as long as it isn’t too short as to appear improper already to be considered a dress for the promernade, right?

Lotus and Lilies

A friend’s aunt had asked for our help in looking for pond plants such as lotus and lilies for a school project. I remember the park in the city used to have those in the pond near the man made falls in one part of it. But the lat time we went there which was quite a long while already, they were gone.

What I know though is that I have come across before one of the largest selections of pond plants online and I may just recommend that to my old friend’s aunt. All of the plants they sell are shipped direct from the grower fresh, healthy and are not harvested until you order it. They are ready for planting when they arrive and that is what I remember reading from that source.

I suddenly somehow got interested in those plants she was looking for but since we don’t own this place, we may just have to wait till we can have a small pond made in our own place and probably I’ll be getting from that supplier those lotus and lilies.

Work from Home

Looking at those modern office furniture makes me think somehow that hope I can wish that hubby can just work from home though still remain employed by his company. Well that is truly wishful thinking for now unless he becomes some sort of a company consultant! Anyway those office furniture I saw are really nice and modern and good to have for the office. But since we just have a small space at home to be called our home office, we need those compact office furniture and I am particularly hunting for a office chair that is comfortable.

I once saw a chair that I really like to buy in the mall furniture section long before but it is now out of stock. They cannot tell when the new stock will be arriving. I love to sit (and work on that chair to replace the damaged computer chair that I used to have) even so watch movies at home sitting comfortably on that chair. It is a recliner sofa actually much like for home theater purposes. I love it though it is just too big for our living room. It would make working at home more comfortable for me. But hopefully not too comfortable that I would be sleeping or watching more TV then rather than working.

Outdoor Furniture for Dad

I suddenly remember that we passed by a few days ago at this furniture shop on our way to a mall and it has been in my mind since that I hope I can have some budget to buy my dad this outdoor furniture that I found which he will find very useful when he stays at my sister’s house for a few hours. There is a space outside my sister’s house where we usually hang out to get fresh air especially when it gets windy out there.

This rustic natural cedar log farmers table with benches will be something my dad will like. We can hang out here with my sisters during weekends or can also dine there when we have our family gatherings. We can even eat there for a change or perhaps have a little barbeque party in the near future for family bonding.

Other than that, I got interested in those log beds, that are naturally resistant to decay and insect damage, which I saw which I know my dad will also appreciate. He likes that kind of bed actually and he prefers it over other kinds of modern bed. I used to sleep in that kind of bed when I was so much younger and it feels good to sleep on too. There is another furniture though the log daybed would be great to have in the shady area outside the house of my sister’s place. I could sleep there during the afternoon on weekends. What is good about my sister’s place is that there are not too many neighbors yet there and you get a good view of the highest mountain in the country plus the sunset! So it is nice to stay outdoors, lounge at these outdoor furnitures and enjoy time bonding with the family especially with my dad.

What to Give

What to give to a five year old? That was something that I have been asking myself since yesterday morning. I wonder if he would love getting one of those personalized baseball bats among those personalized gifts that I found recently which are usually given as gift, souvenir, reward or thank you gift to athletes in one’s family.

This little boy likes sports somehow but not really into the real baseball game though. But I used to see him showing interest in the game when he would see it at the sports channel in the cable tv before. Other than the bat, I may have to find another option of what to give as a birthday gift. I may have to ask my sisters for any other suggestions.

Almost All in Dress

Almost all of my high school classmates were all in dress last night. So I think I made the right choice in wearing a dress which is not my usual preference of clothing but since it was a special occasion as it was our first ever formal reunion after sixteen years since we graduated from high school. Almost all were there when I arrived an hour late from the time set. I had to go back for the laptop which was used for a slide show at the end of our mini program. I did bring a blouse and black slacks just in case many are not in a dress and I was planning to wear it after the party in the hotel and when we hop to another place.

It was a fun night and we were all girls of course since we don’t have boys way back then when the high school was still all exclusive for girls. It was a night full of laughter and fun memories some of which I could not remember my gosh particularly those memories about our teachers and crazy stuff we did. It was fun wearing a dress and maybe I could buy more dressed in case I can do a little shopping next time.

The Bird

Upon seeing this on my laptop screen, the little boy cannot help but say out loud over and over again “The bird!” He became fascinated and interested in looking at birds when he saw one in the animated movie A Bug’s Life actually. He watched that movie over and over again for so many days.

I was actually looking for a lamp to put in my working table here at home. I decided to go on an online window shopping as I took a break from the chores her at home. I found this one among here, as part of the Very Nice Decorations for Modern Interior Design The Parrots Party by Lladro. There is something else I have in mind that I want from a table lamp but then this obviously was my son’s choice and so I got stuck on this page until he left my side!
