Brown Rice

Brown rice (or “hulled rice”) is unmilled or partly milled rice, a kind of whole, natural grain.
With thoughts of a mom wanting to go for healthy options, I have been thinking of trying to use brown rice (also called unpolished rice) instead for our own consumption. It is actually more expensive than the rice that we usually buy from the supermarket but more nutritious than white rice. Hubby and I have tried this before a couple of years ago or so at one of the small restaurants in the city called Grub that serves brown rice with their meals served. We liked it though at first being not used to eating it, I was quite hesitant but went on to enjoy eating it as I remember. (more…)
Get Better
Wish we will get better soon. I and the little boy have not been feeling well the past few days. The weather this month makes more people prone to sickness I guess. I experienced some chest pain yesterday just as I thought about the PC based ekg machine. The use and importance of the electrocardiogram in the diagnosis of a heart disease along with an explanation about how it is performed is something I was looking into after I did have a chest pain last Monday after the right side of my tummy ached too again but it went away after awhile. Draining Faster… Alleluia!
Since June last year, our kitchen sink drain has been a problem. This is not the first time. Last year was the second month of June when this drain problem started. The water would drain so slow making washing dishes difficult. I could do the dish washing with no complain as long as I have strong running water, a good liquid soap and a good kitchen sink that drains fast. But washing dishes which should be finished within a few minutes would extend to thirty minutes or an hour while waiting for the water to drain. Brushing teeth is also hard to do there since I don’t like to do that in the bathroom sink. (more…)
